

The Easy Africa Superwoman Awards were held under the theme “Breaking the Glass Ceiling and Leading Ahead,” bringing together influential women leaders from across the region to celebrate excellence, resilience and transformative leadership.
The event recognized women who continue to break barriers, inspire change and champion progress in government, business, education, civil society and community development.
Among those honoured was Evelyn Cheluget, who was named Champion in Public Sector Leadership in East Africa 2026 for her contribution to public service and leadership.

Cheluget dedicated the award to officers and staff within the Immigration Department, saying the recognition reflected the collective commitment, professionalism and patriotism of immigration officers across the country.
She praised the department’s role in safeguarding national security, managing borders and facilitating efficient service delivery.
The Director General also encouraged women in leadership to continue pushing boundaries, overcoming challenges and creating opportunities for others to rise.
Speakers at the event emphasized the need to empower more women to take up leadership positions through mentorship, education and supportive systems that uplift women and girls.
Discussions also highlighted the growing role of women in business, education and community service, with leaders applauding female professionals and entrepreneurs for driving innovation, economic growth and social transformation.
The forum further underscored the importance of mentorship, collaboration and inclusivity in creating more opportunities for women across different sectors.
