The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has dismissed a poster circulating online about the recruitment of police constables.
In a press statement, NPSC Chairperson Eliud Kinuthia warned the public to remain cautious and avoid falling victim to fraudulent advertisements aimed at deceiving and exploiting individuals.
He emphasized that the Commission holds the exclusive authority to recruit and appoint personnel to the National Police Service.
Kinuthia clarified that any official communication regarding police recruitment will only come from the NPSC, which is currently collaborating with key stakeholders to prepare for a lawful recruitment process in accordance with its constitutional mandate.
The fake poster, had outlined entry requirements, recruitment start dates, and application procedures.
Earlier, the government announced plans to recruit at least 10,000 police officers this year.
Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo mentioned that while the National Assembly has allocated a budget for 5,000 recruits, the ministry will work with MPs to secure additional funding to potentially double the number of new officers.
