Former Treasury CS Henry Rotich on Thursday said the devil has been ashamed following his acquittal in the sh 63 billion Arror and Kimwarer graft case.
The former CS who talked to the press minutes after he was cleared by the Magistrate court said those who schemed the evil work against him had also been ashamed.
“No poison can go where there is no blood, so no blood was spilled and there was nowhere the poison could go…no amount of lies and poison could survive. The devil has been ashamed and I believe he will permanently be ashamed and those who schemed this evil work,” he said.
The former Treasury CS was acquitted alongside eight others in the Sh63 billion graft case.
Trial Magistrate Eunice Nyutu ruled that there was no evidence to warrant them being placed on their defense.
According to the Magistrate, there was no evidence tabled in court to show that the former CS and eight others failed to follow procurement laws in the Arror and Kimwarer Dams.
The Magistrate shifted blame to the prosecution on how the case was conducted noting that only eight witnesses testified out of the 49 witnesses they had intended to call.
“This would appear to be a prosecution led acquittal…. The prosecution in its opening statement told the court that they will prove the impunity. It however changed its tune forcing the court to rely on evidence of only eight witnesses,” she said.
