Gusii lawyers on Saturday drummed up support for Lawyer Omwanza Ombati who they say is the most qualified to represent lawyers at the Judicial Service Commission.
The event which was graced by lawyers, judges, magistrates and political leadership saw various aspirants for the Law Society of Kenya also seek votes for their respective seats from their colleagues.
However, lawyer Omwanza Ombati stole the show as the lawyers pledged to support him as sought to be elected at LSK Male representative to the Judicial Service Commission.
“We are not electing Omwanza Ombati because he is from the Gusii Community, we are electing him because he is the most qualified to represent the lawyers,” Majority whip Sylvanus Osoro said at the event.
The South Mugirango MP castigated LSK President Eric Theuri who is also seeking the same seat saying he was a state project.
“The person who is see at the state house is Eric Theuri, he is my friend, I am actually seeing Omwanza Ombati for the first time today after elections, if there is a state candidate for the JSC then it is my friend and current president of LSK Eric Theuri,” claimed Osoro.
