A school in Migori County has sued a local media house for allegedly linking it to “weird Christian teachings.
Rongo Success Academy Rongo Success Academy was on the spot in documentaries and articles broadcast and published in Nation Media Group’s (NMG) products, including NTV and the Daily Nation.
NTV’s documentary dubbed Holy Betrayal insinuated that the institution had lost several pupils due to cultic teachings by an offshoot of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church.
In suit papers, the school through lawyer Danstan Omari claim that the allegations broadcasted are false and the publication was aimed at destroying the reputation of the school.
It is the school’s case that there was no evidence of journalist interviewing the management or the community around the school and the school operational framework is not guided by any religious doctrines.
They now want the court to issue orders stopping the media house from producing or broadcasting about the school.
