A case which seeks the removal of Kiambaa CDF boss Lorna Muthoni Njoroge will now be heard on May 30.
Four people have petitioned the High court to have Njoroge removed from her position as Kiambaa’s Constituency Development Fund Manager on grounds that she is unsuitable to serve.
Richard Mulwa Musyoka, Richard Nzine, Nicholas Michael and Elizabeth Mumbi accuse the CDF manager of being involved in nepotism and therefore unfit to serve.
“Lorna Muthoni Njoroge is unfit to hold public office as she engages in behavior that places her office into contempt, disrepute because of abuse of public office and public trust,” reads the petition
Through lawyer Shadrack Wambui, the four petitioners claim they have raised the matter before the court as no any action has been taken against her by the relevant authorities.
However Njoroge has filed preliminary objection to the application saying it was premature and the court had no jurisdiction to hear it.
“The application and the petition are mere schemes to perpetrate smear campaigns in an attempt to malign the respondent’s name,” read the preliminary objection.
Njoroge wants the case dismissed claiming that the petitioners have been hired and are representing her estranged husband as indicated in witness statement filed in court.
Justice Byrum Ongaya directed that the matter be mentioned next month for further directions.
